Because he’s not only hunky, he also doesn’t take himself too seriously.

But it turns out that the Jurassic World star is also a sensitive Super Dad, and told a heartfelt story at Friday’s March of Dimes Celebration of Babies about when his son, Jack, was born nine weeks early.

Pratt said Jack was born at just 3 pounds, 12 ounces. “That’s a decent-sized bass,” he joked. “Very small for a human.”

And he explained that being a father is more meaningful than every exciting thing he’s ever done as an actor, and how scary it was to almost lose his son.

“I’ve done all kinds of cool things as an actor — I’ve jumped out of helicopters and done some daring stunts and played baseball in a professional stadium, but none of it means anything compared to being somebody’s daddy,” Pratt said.

He added that the moments he could hold his son while he was in the NICU were the most special. “I made promises in that moment about what kind of dad I wanted to be and I just prayed that he’d live long enough that I could keep them.”

Though doctors told Pratt and his wife Anna Faris that their son may have special needs and would need cosmetic surgery to correct his eyes, they were able to take him home after a month, and he turned out just fine.

“Our Jack went from a small, helpless little squirt to a strong, smart, happy, funny, beautiful boy who loves monster trucks and ‘Daniel Tiger,’ and, believe it or not, loves vegetables,” Pratt said. “Broccoli and cherry tomatoes are his favorite foods.”

He went on, according to Variety:

“None of what we went through would be as easy even 10 years ago,” he said. In the NICU, life or death hangs in the balance — “a balance that’s tipping towards life by cutting-edge medicines, much of which is a direct result of this wonderful organization, the March of Dimes.”

So he’s super hot, hilarious, AND an amazing dad who got his kid to love vegetables? Anna Faris is one lucky gal.
